This is the ultimate quick, crispy, and flavorful snack or light meal—ready in under 10 minutes! Perfect for when pizza cravings hit but you don’t want to wait for dough to rise.
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 6–8 minutes | Serves: 1–2
Ingredients
· 2 slices thick-cut bread or garlic toast slices (like Texas toast)
· 2–3 tbsp pizza sauce or marinara
· ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
· Toppings of choice: pepperoni, sliced olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.
· 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
· ¼ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
· Red pepper flakes, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- If using plain bread, lightly butter one side and sprinkle with garlic powder for garlic toast effect. Pre-made garlic toast works perfectly as-is.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the unbuttered side of each slice.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce, then add desired toppings.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan and dried oregano.
- Preheat air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 2 minutes, if your model requires preheating.
- Place pizza toasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, cheese-side up. Air fry for 6–8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden and crisp.
- Let cool for 1–2 minutes before slicing. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired, and serve immediately.
Tips for Success
· Don’t overload toppings—too many will prevent the bread from crisping.
· For extra crunch, lightly toast the bread in the air fryer for 2 minutes before adding toppings.
· If using refrigerated garlic toast (frozen is fine too), you may need an extra 1–2 minutes in the air fryer.
· Try brushing the crust edges with garlic butter after cooking for extra flavor.
